Jon Jones Can't Stop Talking About Rashad Evans
Jon Jones should be concentrating on Phil Davis, whom he'll fight at UFC 133 but it seems he still has Rashad on his mind: "Rashad could've been fightin' me, but he was impatient. He decided to take a [non-title] fight against Phil Davis instead of waiting. [He] should've been patient and he would'a been fightin' me soon, but things happen. He lost his #1 contendership, but that's something that he decided to do. So it's whatever."
Who thinks Jones needs to get over his man-crush on Rashad?

Matt Mitrione Shines in Victory over Christian Morecraft
Matt Mitrione vs. Christian Morecraft
Round one: Tentative feeling out process early, then Mitrione goes starts working the leg kicks. Morecraft returns with a leg kick. Mitrione reaches drops Morecraft with a left straight and follows Morecraft down. Looks like Mitrione thought the ref would call the fight but they stand back up instead. Both men start to throw down a bit and Morecraft pushes forward looking for a high takedown. Nice body kick, left hook combination from Mitrione that connects and Morecraft responds with an inside leg kick. Both men trade big straight punches from the outside. More big blows exchanged and Mitrone gets the better of it. Mitrione drops Morecraft with a big right hand and follows him to the ground but Morecraft uses his wrestling to get on top. Mitrione cagewalks back to his feet and finishes the round clinching in a body lock.
Round two: Both men trade blows to get things started but Mitrione's strikes are much more technical and crisper. He looks incredibly confident. Left high kick whiffs for Mitrione. Morecraft changes levels and scoops up Mitrione with a double leg takedown attempt and puts Mitrione on his back against the cage but Mitrione gets back to his feet and drops some right hands on the way up. Morecraft still have him pressed against the fence and he puts Mitrione on his back this time forcing him into full guard. Mitrione hangs on and stalls until the referee stands it up. Mitrione shrugs off a takedown attempt from Morecraft and he falls down. Morecraft is slow getting back to his feet and Mitrione tags him with a huge 1-2-1 combination and Morecraft drops! He's out on the canvas, his mouthguard falls beside him. Very nice display of finishing power by Mitrione there.
Postfight interview: Mitrione is a class act, paying sincere respect to the fans.
Matt Mitrione defeats Christian Morecraft via sweet knockout at 4:28 of round two
Note to Nate Marquardt: Don't Piss Off Dana White
Details are still sketchy at this point but Nate Marquardt failed his pre-fight medicals and will not be allowed to fight at UFC on Versus 4 June 26th. As you can see below, Dana White was very unhappy!

Strikeforce heavyweight Josh Barnett fixes a broken nose using ballpoint pens!! Is that legal?
Jamie Varner Disappoints Fans At Gruesome MMA 4
From Bluegrassmma.com
I talked with Varner at the venue and he seemed ready to battle. It was a real shame that a professional of his caliber came unprepared. I was disappointed that he wasn't going to fight but I was more worried about the guy who was in a position to make a name for himself. Jeremy Carper is a class act. With a win over Varner he was on the cusp of the spotlight. Carper no doubt will get another chance down the road but he was robbed of a great opportunity Saturday night.
=========================================================================
--I have a slightly different take on this, and I was there. Varner showed up late, without his bloodwork papers. He tried to say he didn't know he needed to bring them (which I find hard to believe of a veteran with 25 pro fights). He then stated he would get his associates to fax them over. This took around an hour, and in the end the promoter told me Varner tried to present fraudulent paperwork to the commissioner. The commissioner recognized the fakes and declared Varner "medically ineligible". This was a travesty. Not only was Jeremy Carper cheated of a big fight, the fans lost their main event. Varner didn't care, though. He ran out and later that evening, he complained of being "bored" in a post on his Facebook account. What a class act.

Wow!! Nick Diaz vs. Georges St. Pierre At UFC 137!
Please don't let either one of them get injured! This fight will be fantastic. Dana White tweeted the following Wednesday afternoon “U wanted it! U GOT IT!!!”
Although GSP has faced arguably tougher competition over the last several years he has failed to impress in his last several victories--all by decision. Diaz on the other hand, has defeated his opponents where they are strong and in exciting ways. Please, Nick, defend the takedowns!!

Dominick Cruz: The Fabernator
Uriah Faber may hate him, but my money is on Dominick Cruz in their upcoming rematch at UFC 132. Below is some old footage of Cruz hitting pads. Must be nice not needing to keep your hands up because you're just that fast.

Jeremy Carper vs. Former WEC Lightweight Champion Jamie Varner
From Gruesome MMA: Former WEC Lightweight Champion Jamie Varner has stepped up to replace Rafaello Oliveira who was called up to fight at UFC 130. Fighting out of Phoenix, Arizona with a record of 17-5-1 Varner is the former World Extreme Cagefighting Lightweight Champion and is coming off of a first round knock out victory in his last outing. Varner takes on Jeremy Carper in the main event of Gruesome MMA 4.
Jeremy Carper gets another top shelf competitor in Jamie Varner, a hard-hitting wrestler and former champion. I've also heard rumors this fight will be shown on HDNet!

Rashad Evans: "Get off my phone fake ass white boy!"
From Rashad Evans to Jon Jones:
"Get off my phone fake ass white boy!"
Rashad later said:
"Yeah I did say that to him but he also said a lot of things to me that I didn't want to put out there. I mean, we were arguing - I said a lot of things, he did, back and forth, you know? But I did call him a fake ass white boy, I did. But it's not that I think being a white boy is a bad thing, its not against white people in general. Its an insult to him because he's not white, you can see where the insult comes in. That's the extent of the insult right there - its not an insult against white people, its that he's black and I'm calling him white. It made him mad because he posted it on the Internet - and what kind of move is that anyway? That's like high school, grade school s--t - ‘Look what Rashad said to me! Look everyone, look, look!' - what I am gonna do, call my mom cuz Jon Jones said a bunch of mean things to me? If I offended anybody I deeply do apologize, some of my best friends are white. I got no problem with white people it was just a simple fact that to be a black person and be called something that you are not is very offensive." --originally reported at MMA Weekly (viaFighters Only)
I'm pretty sure if a fighter of another race made an insult by calling a fellow fighter a "fake ass black boy" this would be a bigger deal. Reverse racism anyone? Honestly, though, who really cares? Jon Jones is a fantastic fighter but he needs to grow up.

Local Ranson, West Virginia fighter Jeremy Carper will meet 3-time UFC veteran Rafaello "Tractor" Oliveira at Gruesome MMA on June 11 in Belfry, Kentucky. Carper, an exciting Muay Thai specialist, is expected to keep the fight standing against submission specialist Oliveira.
